obagi skincare to treat acne

How we treat acne at Youtopia

Acne is a condition that can impact your self esteem and feelings of confidence. Every June is Acne Awareness Month, which is a time of the year when we take some time to think about how this condition can affect sufferers.

As an aesthetics clinic that provides solutions to treat acne and acne scarring, we wanted to take this opportunity to let you know which treatments we have available in our clinic in Cannock to help treat this condition.

Medical Grade Skincare for acne

If you are suffering from acne, finding the right skin care is not always easy. Over the counter products are not guaranteed to be clinically or scientifically proven to produce results. You need to use new skincare products for a minimum of one month and up to three months before you see the full results. If you are not using a product that is proven to work, that can amount to a lot of wasted time.

At Youtopia in Cannock we prescribe Obagi medical grade skin care that is clinically proven to improve acne.

Obagi CLENZIderm MD

Obagi medical home care is a personalised treatment plan that consists of a 3-step acne treatment formulated to help combat acne and, with daily use, it helps to prevent future acne from forming.

The CLENZIderm M.D. Acne Therapeutic System includes clinically proven ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid that help treat acne and give patients clearer, healthier looking skin.

The Obagi CLENZIderm MD system can’t be bought over the counter because it is a prescription medication. If you would like to try skincare that gets rid of acne you can book a consultation at Youtopia and we can talk you through the options.

Diamond Glow Hydrafacial for acne

The Diamond Glow Hydrafacial treatment can be used to help improve acne prone skin.

Hydrafacial includes lymphatic drainage which helps to release built up toxins that have been stored in the skin. The Hydrafacial process also includes a deep cleanse and exfoliation with the unique diamond tip technology. Impurities are extracted from the skin with a closed-loop vacuum system whilst simultaneously infusing medical grade nourishing pro infusion serums. We can select exactly the right serums to help improve your specific skin concern including for the treatment of acne.

Chemical peels for acne and acne scars

Chemical peels come in different strengths and can work on different layers of the skin, from superficial, to medium to deep peels, at Youtopia we are experienced in knowing exactly which type of peel will be best to treat the type of acne our patients present with.

Chemical peels work by exfoliating the outer layers of the skin and stimulating the growth of new, healthier skin. This treatment can improve acne by unclogging pores, reducing inflammation, and promoting skin renewal.

Chemical peels can also help reduce the appearance of acne scars by encouraging collagen production and smoothing out the skin’s texture. We can combine treatments such as using Teoxane soft dermal fillers in conjunction with chemical peels to smooth out indentations left by acne scarring.

Microneedling for acne scars

Microneedling is a procedure that uses tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, promoting skin rejuvenation and reducing the appearance of acne scars.

Microneedling can also improve overall skin texture and tone, leading to a smoother and more even complexion.
