How does Radiesse® work?
Radiesse® is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHa), which is a biocompatible, bio-degradable and non-toxic mineral, found naturally in the body. It makes up approximately 70% of human bone mass and 80% of tooth dentin and enamel, promoting stability, hardness and load bearing strength.
CaHA acts as a scaffold which allows bone forming cells to move across and repair damaged areas, eventually replacing the mineral with new healthy bone. In Radiesse®, CaHA microspheres mimic these natural properties to help rejuvenate the skin. This includes forming a temporary scaffold which supports the skin’s architecture, providing instant lift and structure.
It does this by physically stretching nearby cells, called fibroblasts, to trigger a wound healing response that stimulates the production of new type 1 and type 3 collagen and elastin. This promotes the skin to rebuild its own supportive framework.

How does Radiesse® Hyperdilute Work?
Radiesse® Hyperdilute is carefully diluted with sterile saline and lidocaine to create a light, fluid solution. This allows it to be evenly distributed across the skin.
When used in this hyperdiluted form, Radiesse® acts primarily as a biostimulatory treatment. The calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres stimulate fibroblasts within the dermis, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin, both essential for skin tightening.
